Project Description:
Cobb County Fire and Emergency Headquarters is a 17,000 SF facility on County Services Parkway. It is a one story steel building with a metal roof and brick facing all around. The entrance is a huge storefront with beautiful cast stone at the perimeter of the entrance. The logo of the Fire Department is specially made by brick manufacturer to match the shape and the colors.

The interior of the building is spacious with a huge and welcoming front lobby and hallway. All the facilities are provided in the building for the comfort of the officers working there. Needless to say that the headquarters has a state of the art security alarm system for the emergencies they deal with everyday. The scope also includes system furniture that could conceal all the electrical work and thus the fire department can have the building totally functional as soon as the construction is over.

The site is fairly simple area to work with, having to add 6800 cubic yards of dirt to bring the site to the level of the street. Still the challenge in the job lies while doing the site work in the time frame available. The job starts in the last week of September and thus the goal is to finish all the site work, put a binder coarse and the pour slab before the first week of December to avoid the rainy season.

The job is scheduled to finish by May of 2002.
